Engineering & Metalworks

At Third Automotive & Engineering, we do things the proper way—hands-on, detail-driven, and proudly rooted in the traditions of British engineering.

Our workshop ethos is built on four pillars: quality, precision, longevity, and aesthetics. Whether it’s a finely machined gearbox bracket or a beautifully crafted set of wrought iron gates, we believe great design should last—and look the part while doing it.

Every product we offer is made right here in the UK, either by our own team or trusted partners who share our standards. No imports. No shortcuts. Just solid, honest engineering.

We’ve got a passion for one-off projects. From custom car parts builds to bespoke home furniture, we’re here to make great things—one piece at a time.

Our Workshop Capabilities

Welding & Brazing

  • MIG, TIG, and gas welding across stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminium
  • Brazing of classic, historic & vintage tubular chassis.
  • Structural and decorative welds for industrial, automotive, and architectural applications

Laser Cutting & Profiling

  • High-precision laser cutting of stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminium
  • Clean edges and repeatable accuracy for components, signage, and custom parts
  • Ideal for prototyping, batch production, and bespoke fabrication

Reproduction & Repairs

  • Reproduction of unobtainable or scarce products accident damaged or corroded beyond repair. Such as this stainless steel front bull bar on a DAF XF which was accident damaged. We reproduced the damaged stainless steel uprights, repaired the mounting brackets and re-assembled ready for fitting:

Machining & Finishing

  • Manual turning and milling for custom components and mechanical parts
  • Surface finishing, deburring, and polishing for professional-grade results
  • Tight tolerances and repeatable accuracy for engineering and automotive builds

Wrought Ironwork & Custom Fabrication

  • Bespoke gates, railings, fences, and architectural features
  • Handcrafted furniture commissions with industrial or heritage styling such as this custom “crazy table legs” project. It was engineered for a high-end kitchen and dining space, crafted to support a 300kg slab of slate for a 12-person dining table. It’s a statement piece that blends structural integrity with unapologetic design.
